Shattuckite
is a rare and beautiful gem originally found at the
Shattuck Mine, Bisbee, Arizona, USA. It is rarely found
as crystals and usually found as fibrous or spherulitic
masses suitable only for cabochons. Cabochons include beautiful
shades of blues and greens typical of minerals associated
with oxidized copper deposits. Sources include other
mines close to the Shattuck Mine in Arizona, USA; Nevada,
USA; New Mexico, USA; Sonora, Mexico; Tsumeb, Namibia;
Katanga Province,
Congo (Shaba Province, Zaire); and Andros Island, Greece.
