Chrome
Diopside
is a dark green variety of Diopside
that is colored a very distinctive rich green color
by its chromium content. Although Chrome Diopside is
found in a number of localities, the most desirable,
gemmy material comes from the Saha Republic, Eastern-Siberian Region
of Russia. Another gem variety of Diopside is called
Tashmarine and
is a lighter yellowish green color.
